Why I’m getting an iPhone 4

New Vodafone Prepay Plan, aims to compete with 2degrees, but there’s a catch

Vodafone New Zealand have annouced on thier forums today, they are withdrawing the controversial Talk add-on which offered 200 minutes any time for only $12 a month, but only to other Vodafone NZ mobiles.

This add-on will be replaced with a new Prepay plan where the user gets:

-	$0.49 per minute voice calls to ANY NZ mobile or landline at ANYTIME
-	$0.12 per TXT to ANY NZ mobile

The release goes on to note some disturbing extra charges and terms:

HOW TO: Set up a self-hosted WordPress blog

After setting up this new blog with all it's successes and failures, I thought I would share my experice and tips that I picked up along the way.

If you are looking for a way to have your say online I would highly recommend setting up a WordPress blog. They are super flexible and really popular. If you can, buy a domain and get your blog hosted somewhere you trust. Having access to your blog via FTP makes things so much easier when you want to upload custom themes or edit the themes you already have.

REVIEW: iPad

As one of the privileged few to lay my hands on an iPad in New Zealand I cant help but feel like I have been let into a secret club. One where everyone wants to get into but very few people have. iPad is still very much a buzz word in New Zealand and this was proved to me when my friend Michelle said “Is that an iPad?” in the middle of class, the whole room went quiet for a second. What is it about the iPad that has made it so revered? Is it the Apple branding? The media hype?

I think the iPad is as much an idea as a product and Apple seems like the perfect company to deliver that idea. Before you ask, “Isn’t this just a big iPod touch?” I will say, to use an iPad is like nothing you have ever used before, the fluidity of the interface and the beautiful large display make the only similarity to the iPod touch the tried and true system of Home Screen, App then back to Home Screen workflow. The first time you touch an iPad you will realise this device could change the way you think about computing and your use of the internet.
